Notes:

Hello,

I am a Music graduate from the University of Manchester and am now working as a freelance pianist and musical director and vocal coach. I am experienced and enthusiastic about many genres of music, ranging from classical to jazz to pop to musical theatre and play violin, guitar and bass guitar as well. I am extremely enthusiastic about all aspects of music making and in my lessons I aim to ensure that my pupils enjoy the music that they are playing.

I do a lot of work in Musical Theatre, and some of my recent theatre credits include, Assistant Musical Director for the UK Tour of 'The Marriage of Kim K', Assistant MD for the RNCM Young Company's recent production of 'Rent', Keys 2 for Parade at the Hope Mill Theatre. Whilst studying, I did a lot of work with the Musical Theatre Society, including being MD for productions of 'A Chorus Line' and 'Grand Hotel' and Assistant MD for productions of 'Betty Blue Eyes' and '25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' as well as playing in numerous pit bands both with university and outside as well.

As a pianist, I have a wide range of performance experience as a solo performer and as an accompanist. I worked with numerous musicians as an accompanist with a variety of instruments and repertoire. I have also worked playing audition, workshop and rehearsal piano for Leoe and Hyde, Manchester Actor's Platform, James Baker and Tom Lloyd, amongst many others. I enjoy playing a vast array of different styles of music.

Other than piano, I also have experience playing guitar, bass and violin. I have played in many function and cover bands and also toured as guitarist and bassist with the Minneapolis based band 'Harbor & Home' on their West Coast Tour in the summer of 2016. I played violin for several years in the Cardiff County High School and Youth Orchestras when I was a teenager as well.

I am passionate about a range of different types of music and in my my lessons I would aim to ensure that my students can discover music which excites them too.

Please feel free to contact me on 07787467819 or [email protected] if you have any questions or enquiries.

Many thanks,
Andy
