Notes:
I am a professional pianist and composer based in North London, and have been teaching privately for nearly 10 years. I studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and the University of Cambridge, before recently completing a PhD at the University of Birmingham, where I was also a Teaching Associate on the undergraduate curriculum.
I am enthusiastic about teaching, and can teach across all styles and genres (e.g. classical, contemporary, jazz, pop, etc.) from beginners through to advanced level, and for all ages. I am very happy to teach either for set goals, for example ABRSM/Trinity examinations, auditions/conservatoire preparation, or with students who simply want to learn for enjoyment/pleasure.
I have a 100% exam success rate, with the majority of my students achieving distinctions and merits.
As well as piano teaching, I also offer music theory, GCSE/A Level, composition, and undergraduate tuition. For ABRSM theory in particular, I offer a package course to prepare students who need to take their Grade 5, with a student of mine recently achieving 98/100 in his Grade 5 ABRSM Theory.
I am very happy travelling to students' houses around London (particularly in North and Central London), or teaching from my home in Finsbury Park (5 minutes from tube station).
I am available as an accompanist for a range of requirements, including: exam board accompaniment, audition accompaniment, concert accompaniment, and so on. Please enquire for separate accompanist rates.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
