Piano, music theory I studied classical piano at the Conservatoire in puasn Korea also univerisity in London, I won prizes at several competitions., , After a distinguished career performing from the age of 7 years old, I began teaching in my mid twenties after completing a music degree in South Korea. I have been teaching now for over 25 years and understands most of the difficulties younger students have in getting to grips with the piano. Most of our new students are children with some natural talent who have often been held back by poor teaching methods or lack of motivation to progress beyond the basic level. This is common where the child in question does not have sufficient time spent on a one to one basis which is often the case when learning in a school environment., , My results speak for themselves with most pupils easily achieving Grade 6 within their first three years with me., , Previous pupils achievements include results up to distinction at Grade 6 and the award of numerous music scholarships at some of the most prestigious schools in the country including Eton College, Wycombe Abbey, Winchester College, St. Annes (Caversham), St MaryÂís School (Ascot), St Edmunds College (Ware) and several others., , I always have an initial first lesson with prospective pupils to see whether I can work together and will set achievable results within a reasonable time scales which I believe helps pupilÂís to focus on a goal to work towards. , Currently my young students (age 8 &9) are preparing grade 6 & 8 piano abrsm.

I teach adults and children, whether beginner or intermediate, and respect the student's wishes with regard to whether they wish to pursue piano playing as a hobby or aim to progress through graded exams., , For students wishing to learn music theory, or needing to focus on this in order to progress to their next level of performance, I can help you learn efficiently whilst enabling you to recognise methods and patterns that have enabled past pupils to express their enjoyment of, and appreciation for, this aspect of musical learning., , I currently play an excellent Clavinova. For composing, I use Sibelius or handwrite on manuscript. , , Accompanists for exams and school concerts are highly sought but not often readily available for a rehearsals beforehand so please get in touch if you need someone to help you prepare.
