I teach piano I teach children/adults to read notes, encourage them to play by ear and improvise too, using different learning styles. People learn best when they can choose their pieces. Classical, Jazz, Pop, Songwriting, exams or playing for fun are areas I cover. I encourage people to experiment with finding their own rhythm for practising, which is important. My pupils perform in a concert twice a year if they want to. It's a great motivation to hear others slightly further down the line.
