Piano, Keyboard, Music Theory I teach the piano for those who would like to take grades 1-8 (ABRMS) but I also teach piano for those who want to learn for fun, including popular songs. , , I teach pupils how to read music, aural skills and music theory in addition to the art of playing the piano., , I teach both Classical and popular music styles. During the lessons children explore the piano by experimenting with pitch, dynamics, tempo and different rhythms. , , Children are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity by being taught simple composition and improvisation within the lesson. Pupils learn scales, harmony as well as piano repertoire appropriate to their level and explore different styles for example the tango, a waltz, a minuet or a scherzo., , Pupils also learn music history and the development of the piano as well as understanding how the mechanism works. , , I also encourage pupils to participate in concerts, school assemblies and local competitions., , Teaching is adapted to the individual and the focus is always on the positive side.
