Notes:
Emma was brought up in the Suzuki Method, learning with Christine Livingstone of the London Suzuki Group. She is part of the first generation of Suzuki children in the UK who grew up and became teachers themselves. Emma is a member of the British Suzuki Institute, the London Suzuki Group and the Bristol Suzuki Group.
Emma inherited both a love of playing and composing from her parents, and has an MA in film music from the University of Bristol. She has taught the cello for over 9 years and her students range from young beginners to diploma-level teenagers. Although music exams (ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall) are an extra rather than fundamental part of her tuition, all her students that have taken exams have achieved distinctions or high merits, and her students have won music scholarships to some of the top schools in London.
As well as her private studio, Emma has taught at a number of Suzuki holiday institutes for many years. These include Temple Dinsley Summer School, Bryanston International Suzuki Summer School, Cello Fest, Bayswater Suzuki Group’s Sforzando and The Halloween Festival.
