Full DBS disclosure

Violin lessons for all abilities

I am an enthusiastic, friendly and experienced performer and teacher of traditional music for fiddle/violin, with over 10 years teaching experience. I specialise in the music of Scotland and Ireland but I have a wide taste in musical styles, including classical violin and Scandinavian music.

Whether youíre a complete beginner or returning after a break, I will tailor the lessons to suit your individual needs. The first lesson will be used for both the student and I to get to know each other, and to ascertain what it is the pupil would like to gain from the lessons. The studentís own interests will determine what direction the lessons take, as I find that that is a great way to get the best out of working together.

Over the years I have had the privilege of working with and sharing stages with some of the finest exponents of traditional music, including Kathryn Tickell, Aidan OíRourke (Lau, Blaziní Fiddles) renowned Scottish guitarist Tony McManus and Tom McConville to name a few. Highlights include performing with the Kathryn Tickell Band and Sting, performing at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and undertaking tours of the UK and Europe with various musical outfits.
