Notes:

If you've been thinking about starting to learn an instrument, or dusting off an old one in the attic, NOW is the time! Please call the numbers above to find out more.

I am a highly experienced teacher of woodwind, teaching sax, clarinet and flute in privately and in Devon Schools for over 25 years.

I am comfortable with all ages and standards, from 8 to 90, beginner to advanced.

I am a regular professional performer in all sorts of styles, and am equally at home reading music, playing by ear and improvising.

Forming a good relationship with the the student is the main thing for me...it's important to have fun when we make music.

I usually use the Trinity board for music exams, around half of my students do them and they have achieved a 100% pass rate over the past decade and more. I usually accompany my own students during exams.

I use all sorts of digital technology to enhance the lesson experience and to generate suitable materials.

I am fully CRB checked and have received all the relevant safeguarding training in schools.

I have now resumed face to face lessons both at school and at home, but I am happy to teach online via Zoom if you prefer. All of my students received their lessons this way during lockdown and out worked well.

If you are unsure, please get in touch and we can talk it through.
