Many years of teaching and performing experience. Training for Trinity Guildhall and London College singing examinations - 100% success rate! Founder and Musical Director of the Maureen Hunter Singers (girls 14yr and up) and the MH Junior Singers (boys and girls 7yr - 13yr).
The Maureen Hunter Singers are a very well established female-voice choir of international standard. Now numbering about 55 singers, during the 35 years of their existence they have undergone no less than 5 tours to North America; sung to HRHs Prince Philip and Prince Edward and to HM The Queen; sung in Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, St Mark's Basilica in Venice, St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, Cologne Cathedral, Ghent Cathedral, Bruges Cathedral and in Tuscany. They have appeared numerous times on TV in the UK and also in the USA and Canada. Locally, their annual 'Voices in Spring' concerts in Bricknell Avenue Methodist Church in Hull and their 'Christmas Voices & Brass' concerts in the Middleton Hall in the University of Hull are popular events in the local music scene.
All members of the choirs are (or have been) Maureen's singing pupils - so all have been trained to sing with the correct technique, and hence their voices blend perfectly into what is now uniquely the MHS sound and style.
