WHAT TO EXPECT FROM FIRST LESSONS - Each student usually starts off with a crash course in Music literacy. This, for the most part, takes 4 to 12 weeks. Sight-reading isn’t hard, just usually under-practiced, something that most people struggle with. Becoming literate in music is invaluable. By focusing on different perspectives and ways of reading music, everything becomes more simple and understandable and surprisingly quickly.

WHAT’S ON OFFER - I think a rounded approach to learning music on the keyboard is important and there are many subjects I can offer: Harmony, Theory, Improvisation, Composition, Orchestration, Practice Psychology, Performance Psychology, Voice Leading, Counterpoint, etc. Everyone learns differently but most students I find enjoy covering these six aspects of playing the piano.

• Internalising and playing from memory
• Score reading logic and training
• Finger dexterity and technique
• Individualisation and Expression
• Practice approach (method and time management)
• Aural training (learning from listening)

Preparation offered for the following exams:
