Monica Turoni graduated with honours at the Music Conservatory G. Rossini in Pesaro, Italy. She received the Master Course Diploma at the National Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome and the Performer Diploma at the School of Music of Indiana University in Bloomington (USA) under the guide of the harpist Susann McDonald receiving the IU Merit Scholarship. She graduated at the Music Conservatory B. Maderna in Cesena obtaining the Academic Diploma of 2nd level (the Italian Master’s degree) with 110 cum laude.
She participated at the “ProgettoArpa” of the harpists Carrol Mc Laughlin and Park Stickney (in collaborationwith the Berklee Faculty Piano Improvisation) during the 1998 edition of UmbriaJazz in Perugia.
She attended the Master Classes at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena with Susanna Mildonian receiving a special scholarship offered by S.I.A.E. (Società Italiana Autori ed Editori) and theMerit Diploma; moreover she studied with David Watkins, Susann McDonald andJudith Liber.
She is a solo and chamber music performer and has premiered several works. She has also performed at the WorldHarp Congress in Prague, the European Harp Symposium in Perugia and participated in national and international competitions. She has recorded the solo CD “HarpRecital” distributed by Rugginenti Editore; the same Music Publisher has also published her thesis “Henriette Renié (1875-1956) – Il Metodo Pedagogico” (ThePedagogy Method) and the Cadenza composed and dedicated to her by Aurelio Samorì for the Concerto in Bb Major Op.4, No.6 by G.F. Handel.
She performed on the live recording “Seguitemi, ne udrete delle belle!”, music by Aurelio Samorì published by Mobydick Records and she performed in the première and live recording of “Concerto 100” by Andrea Mati.
Ms Turoni has made her solo debut at CarnegieHall in New York in 2012.
