Biography

I am particularly known for confidence building, creating performance opportunities and enthusiastically making music enjoyable and approachable to everyone!

I was classically trained in singing until Grade 8 ABRSM before branching out to jazz and popular music at the University of Hull. I trained under Louise Gibbs - head of postgraduate studies at the LCM.
The University of Hull was my choice in university at this time as it specialised in early music - particularly useful for an oboist!

I work professionally as a singer, oboist, events manager/host, workshop leader, and also as a technical instructor in music for the NHS.

In the NHS I work in a low-secure unit teaching patients with mental health disorders and learning difficulties.
I have accomplished managing violence and aggression training, safeguarding level 2, fire safety, hospital life support, autism awareness training, personality disorder awareness training and band 2-4 development training.

I regularly attend conferences and training courses to enhance my musical development and constantly challenge myself - with an attitude to feel the fear and do it anyway! Live your life with a sense of adventure!

I feel tremendous job satisfaction watching a pupil blossom not only in their singing but in their whole persona as they achieve not only the ability to play an instrument/sing but watching their confidence grow in their whole persona!
