Learning piano is a fun, challenging and enriching experience. To a child it is an unfamiliar world of wonder, learning many important life lessons in patience, perseverance and reward. To an adult it is an escapist hobby, a 'quickener' of the mind, and more fulfilling than sitting in front of the TV.

As a teacher and performer, I have two very fundamental and passionate beliefs:-

- Piano teachers who also perform make the best teachers. We know first-hand what our students are going through, and are best equipped to inspire and motivate them.
- There is no such thing as a singular 'method' or 'system' to learning the piano. The way that each student learns and plays is a reflection of who they are, so they learn most effectively when the teacher is flexible enough to adapt their approach to them, rather than applying a 'cookie-cutter' mentality.

My experience:-
I have Masters and Bachelors degrees in Piano Performance from (respectively) The Crane School of Music, NY, USA and Birmingham Conservatoire, UK. I have most recently been teaching piano and classroom music (Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-level) at a British International School in Penang, Malaysia. As a pianist I have won a number of music competitions, played Piano Concertos with orchestras in England and the US, and collaborated with a number of eminent upcoming artists.
