Biography

I started playing the harp at the age of 6 on a instrument made for me by my grandfather. I grew up listening to a variety of music; my parents were folk musicians, my grandfather a jazz guitarist and my aunt was a cabaret singer. I studied Harp and Composition at Trinity College of Music, London, and my teachers have included Sioned Williams, Hugh Webb and Charlotte Seale.

During my school years I performed around the UK and Europe with various Suffolk based orchestras, including the West Suffolk Youth Orchestra, Suffolk Youth Orchestra and the South Suffolk Sinfonia. I worked with a number of chamber ensembles, in particular as part of a duo with the harpsichord player Adrian Bush. I also accompanied choirs, performed a number of solo recitals and provided background music for hotels and functions.

Since graduating I have worked as a freelance musician in a number of different fields. Since 2008 I have been playing as part of the band Florence and the Machine, with whom I have toured all over the UK, USA, Europe and Australia, as well as short visits to Brazil, Japan and Singapore. We have released two best-selling UK number one albums, "Lungs" (2009) and "Ceremonials" (2011), and achieved six top 40 singles.

I also record solo as Lunamoth, and I am currently working on a new album.
