I first picked up a guitar aged 8, and quickly worked my way through work set by my own first guitar teacher.
I progressed from classical to electric during secondary school, and pursued music through to GCSE level and then at college to National Diploma level. Alongside my studies I began playing in bands from the age of 14.
I undertook my grade 8 during college and then decided to take my studies to degree level at Huddersfield University. During those three years of study, I racked up many hours of experience as a working musician, up and down the country, as well as starting to branch out into teaching.
Upon completion of my course I was offered a post as a guitar teacher by a senior lecturer and I have never looked back.
Now, I run my own teaching business, Omni Guitar Tuition. I play guitar in a professional band specialising in weddings, parties, and corporate events. I work as a freelance guitarist as well, playing for amateur dramatic societies such as Rotherham Teachers and Operatics Society, Razzmatazz, and others slightly further afield.
I offer the complete package with my approach to teaching - 'Omni' translating as 'all'. Under my instruction students develop skills such as;
Reading notation and/or guitar tablature
Musical theory and harmony knowledge
Aural and rhythmic perception skills
Improvisation and interpretation
Technical skills and concepts
