Notes:

Having taught piano privately for seven years I have learnt that every one of my students learns and processes information differently, which requires me to have as many ways of communicating my thoughts on technique, musical grammar, interpretation and sound as possible. I have developed a range of approaches which help me to personalise lessons to fit the individual.

I studied with Nicholas Ashton at Edinburgh Napier University, where I graduated in 2017 with the Makin Prize for Piano. During my years as a student, I performed in solo piano recitals at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, St. Giles Cathedral, The Edinburgh Society of Musicians, St. Vincentís Chapel, The Scottish Arts Club and Stockbridge Parish Church. In early 2018 I was awarded 1st place and the Chopin Medal in the Edinburgh Competition Festival.

I have attended piano schools at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Chethamís School of Music in Manchester, where I received tuition from Fali Pavri, Bing Bing Li, Petras Geniusas, Craig Sheppard and Norma Fisher. Their insights and influences naturally feed into my own teaching and playing.

At the moment my own teachers are Simon Coverdale, based in Edinburgh, and Graeme McNaught, professor of piano at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

I aspire to pass on my passion for music and immense love for the piano to my students and I derive great satisfaction from watching their progression and enjoyment. I have experience of teaching a variety of ages (6-72). I am also available for piano accompaniment and theory tuition.
