Anyone can sing! Everybody should sing!
Itís great for the soul and mental health!

I am a patient and nurturing teacher and believe that learning singing should be an enjoyable experience! Being a Mum of three myself, I understand how to engage with children of all ages and thoroughly enjoy seeing my pupils progress under my wing. I want my pupils to learn to sing in a healthy and unaffected way, through practising good vocal technique. I love to work with adults of any age, and can accommodate lessons during the weekday where needed.

I have worked as a Jazz Voice Professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London and now work extensively as a peripatetic Singing teacher at two highly regarded local schools.

I mainly accompany my pupils on the piano but also use backing tracks when it is more appropriate.

I can enter my pupils for graded exams if they wish, but I am also very happy for my pupils just to sing for their own pleasure...The most important aspect for me is that my pupils enjoy their lessons, because the more relaxed you are, the better you will sing!

I have worked for 20years as a freelance jazz singer and have considerable experience performing and recording with some of the finest musicians in London. I have recorded albums under my maiden name Kathleen Willison and enjoy my role as mixing engineer for my husband, David John Williamson who is a film and media composer.

Being an experienced session and performance vocalist I also enjoy working with my pupils on songwriting, session skills and microphone technique, and have a fully working PA to practice on during lessons.

I find that teaching from home is preferable as I have my equipment with me which is necessary for most lessons. I can travel to pupils under exceptional circumstances, but unfortunately travel fees would be incurred.

The Lesson fee is £25 for 30mins and back to my pre covid rate of £50 an hour. I am taking block bookings should you wish to book in a set of lessons.

N.B. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, where the full fee will be charged to a pupil who does not attend a lesson for any reason, unless I receive Notice at least 24hours prior to the start of that intended lesson.
