I started playing sax and flute over 30 years ago and turned professional in the early 90's.
To the present I have performed live and recorded regularly among a wide variety of talented artists and interesting projects, highlights being co creator of Parsley Sound (Warp Records / Mowax Records / Universal music publishing) tour sax / flute player for Bjork and Bryan Ferry and recording with John Cale,Goldie, 808 State and Zero 7.

I added clarinet to my playing about 8 years ago and this has greatly expanded my range of musical influences
from where I started - modern jazz, to both modern and traditional jazz, world music, latin and east European folk and Klezmer.

I have been instrumental teaching for over ten years and have helped many budding musicians of all ages and ability towards regular playing enjoyment.

My goal is to keep lessons interesting and effective in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. I am capable of adapting my teaching methods to suit the needs of an individual student and I really enjoy helping someone to progress through any stage of learning from elementary and intermediate to advanced playing techniques and in all cases with an understanding of music theory and reading.

I am happy to give references from current and past students and for parents of younger students to be present during lesson.

Lesson rates are as follows:

30 minutes - £20
45 minutes - £25
60 minutes - £30

Lessons are held between 10am and 8pm Monday to Friday from my home in Newington Green N1 or I travel to surrounding areas for an additional £5 fee.
