I am passionate about music and education. I teach at The Latymer School and St Michaelís Catholic Grammar School, alongside work in orchestral and chamber performance.

I plan thoroughly for my teaching in order to cover the variety of skills needed for exam syllabuses, whilst prioritising a good technical grounding and the enjoyment of learning. I am very familiar with the ABRSM exam system and can guide students through these if they wish. I have a large collection of film music, songs from musically, light-jazzy tunes and more upbeat music for these uncertain times!

I am passionate about musical performance, and share this enthusiasm through teaching. I have worked with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. I am a founding member of Cavendish Winds Quintet. Performance highlights include recitals at Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Kings Place, and a tour of Scotland. As a soloist I have performed the Copland Clarinet Concerto at St John Smithís Square, the Tartini Clarinet Concertino with the Brandenburg Sinfonia at St Martin-in-the-Fields, and Kancheliís Concerto for Clarinet and boy soprano at the Royal Festival Hall, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. I am always striving to improve my own playing and explore new repertoire, goals which aid my teaching.

Whilst being trained as a classical musician, I also enjoy jazz and popular music. I have performed at the Montreal and Ottawa Jazz Festivals as the supporting act to the Mingus Big Band, and worked with German pop musician Annett Louisan in open air concerts across Germany.

I have worked with National Childrenís Orchestra, Wigmore Hall Learning, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Brandenburg Sinfoniaís education department, helping with family days and giving workshops in primary schools.

During the current coronavirus outbreak, I have made major adjustments to my career. I have done a large amount of research into online teaching and think this can be a very effective learning method. To further support my pupils during this time, I am making weekly musical newsletters containing links to online concerts, a composer of the week, word-searches and musical games. (See below for a sample of these.) I can write out any fun music pupils want to play to match their specific notes range, and arrange duets if they have musical siblings. I am also recording concerts at home for education and community departments, creating relaxed concerts with spoken introductions.

Below is a sample of my weekly newsletters. Please copy and paste the link into a new tab.
