Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I began my professional training in 2008, spending a year at Birmingham Conservatoire where I studied with Julian Pike, Simon Nicholls and Anne Dawson. During this year I also received coaching from Jane Robinson and Stephen Barlow, among others. I was a member of the Birmingham Conservatoire Choir, appearing with them in the BBC series ĎThe Birth of British Musicí.

Iíve performed as a soloist with various local companies and choirs, including Bel Canto Opera, The Cotswold Savoyards, Musica Vera, and most recently the Minster Singers and Minster Music Makers. I also perform as part of a small ensemble with other local musicians, specialising mainly in early and baroque music. Performing is an essential aspect of making music for me, and Iím constantly working on my own repertoire and technique alongside my teaching practice.

I focus on grounding my students in optimal vocal technique, which you can apply to any style of music. I can help you to develop your tone, flexibility and range, as well as general musicianship, interpretation and singing in other languages. I am also very happy to guide you in exploring the classical repertoire. Whether youíve been singing for a long time or consider yourself a complete beginner, Iíd be delighted to meet you for a trial lesson.
