Piers taught both my son and myself guitar over a period of more than 3 years
During our lessons, Piers was easily able to adapt his teaching styles to suit my son, who was only a beginner and 9 years old when we started, and to myself, who has been playing for a number of years
What we both particularly enjoyed was the variety in our lessons, which ranged from basic mechanics such as chords and grades, to learning our favourite songs and even composing and recording our own tunes
I am especially grateful to Piers for providing much needed support in helping me learn and practice in advance of my first public performance at the RNCM, without his help I would not have been prepared
Piers is a very kind and considerate teacher, and lessons with him were always fun, informative and very productive. I looked forward to our lessons every week, and the time invested with him pays dividends every we time we pick up a guitar
Best regards |

Dear Piers,
I wanted to email you to let you know how invaluable you have been to Charlie's progress as a musician over the past 5 years. Your enthusiastic and passionate teaching style has opened his eyes to such an eclectic range of music that I am sure he would have not discovered without your guidance. Your music theory knowledge is second to none and this has also helped Charlie develop as a fully rounded musician. Your teaching and mentoring also led to his gaining his grade 8 distinction in bass guitar and joining the Halle Harmony Youth Orchestra as part of Channel 4's documentary 'The Orchestra'.
Although you have moved from Manchester, I am certain that Charlie will remain in touch with you as I know that he views you very much as a friend and mentor as well as his teacher.
Thanks again, and all the best for your future in London.
