Completed Educare child protection training course. (more)
Keeping Children Safe in Music is the latest in the EduCare's series of distance learning courses on child protection. The training programme uses short films to show a variety of good and bad practice examples, which will be available to watch online. It will help anyone teaching music to children gain a better understanding of their child protection responsibilities, and avoid situations that could lead to accusations of misconduct.

Growing up in a musical family in the USA, Erin studied a variety of instruments beginning with piano at age 4. Singing in elite audition choirs from age 7 through university, and studying classical voice under the tutelage of Mark Sheffield during the 00's solidified the mesmirising human voice as Erin's favourite instrument.

With a heart for and experience with building confidence in students facing challenges such as ASD, dyslexia, ESL, anxiety, or behavioural issues, she is excited to work with a variety of needs. Bespoke lessons apply classical concepts of how to use "the instrument" naturally to prevent injury and enable lifelong singing.
Having left a career in Astrophysics, Erin teaches guitar and piano in addition to voice, and performs original material as singer-songwriter Aerynn. Festival appearances include Middlewich Folk and Boat, Leek Arts Festival, Dublin's YouBloom, and Macclesfield's own Barnaby Festival.
If you are looking for a strict, classical studio to administer your exams, Erin's is probably not the right one (though she will happily coach students through ABRSM Grades if requested).
If you are looking for a studio which is off-the-beaten-path, a teacher who is open to listening to your ideas and humbly willing to learn new things to help you reach your goals, then please do get in touch!
