In Clarinet and Piano studies, I concentrate on teaching the pupil how to discover problem-solving and correct practice techniques.
In Vocal studies, I am primarily concerned with Vocal Safety, no matter the genre in question. The range can be expanded, safely, while the voice-body connection is established as well.
I am a versatile musician with experience in many fields and genres.
I do accompany pupils for exams, up to Grade 6.
I sang lots, as a child, in festivals. Then, I did a 'double-major' at university, for the first 2 years of my degree, on clarinet and piano. In Cincinnati, while pursuing the Clarinet Masters degree, I studied harpsichord and Baroque Studies with Eiji Hashimoto, who had been Ralph Kirkpatrick's student, and who finished the editing of the Scarlatti Sonatas after the texts of CPE Bach and Quantz.
Later, I realised how much I really wanted to sing and, although I never took exams after the Gr 8, I had a lovely time, singing solos from the Messiah, Mozart's Requiem and Poulenc's Gloria, to name a few, before realising I was really a mezzo and changed direction. I still study with Ann de Renais.
Recent performances include:
Les Nuits D'Eté with small ensemble
Memorial Day concert with Besses o'th'Barn Brass Band
Performance at the Riga Library of the Latvia University, as well as in several churches in the north of Lithuania.
