Biography

Juliet Jeffries; BMus (Hon), Dip ABRSM, is a dual national pianist currently resident in UK. She was born and educated in Japan until 18. Since she moved to UK in 2005, she won classes at Birmingham Music Festival and Northfield Music Festival. Consequently she joined Birmingham Conservatoire and studied under the tuition of Professor Malcolm Wilson and Katharine Lam. Juliet played in public master classes at Birmingham International Piano Academy with masters; Peter Donohoe and Philip Martin. Juliet also played in master classes during her study at the Conservatoire with Peter Donohoe and with an American pianist, Jeffrey Siegel. During Summer 2012, Juliet was awarded Denis Matthew's Trust Scholarship to attend Cadenza International Summer School where she had lessons with masters; William Fong, Julian Jacobson and Carole Presland.

During her studies at the Conservatoire, Juliet expanded her repertoires covering Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, Contemporary and Live Electronic repertoires. In November 2011, Juliet was kindly invited by Lamberto Coccioli to join Integra Live team to attend Association Europeenne des Conservatoires (AEC) Annual Congress and to perform Monody for piano and live electronic modulation by Roger Smalley with an introductory talk. Juliet continued working on Live electronic repertoires as her Major Project and organised an electronic recital in April 2013, where she performed: "Tombeau de Messiaen"; for piano and Digital Audio Tape (DAT) by J. Harvey and "Touch"; piano and live electronics by L. Coccioli.

Juliet works with singers and has been performing across West Midlands in various churches and at a charity based events. In April 2013, she was invited to perform at 31st Šiauliai International Easter Music Festival RESURREXIT in Lithuania with Mezzo-Soprano; Yukimi Muta. From December 2013, Juliet has been appointed as the piano accompanist for St.Mary's Hospice Choir and has been performing in twice yearly concerts with occasional charity performances during the year.

Juliet has 10 years of experience teaching private pupils to all age groups in Japan and UK with 100% pass rate for ABRSM grade exams. She tailors the lesson according to individual pupil's needs and goals. She takes responsibilities on initiating pupil's journey to achieve their goals.
