George grew up in Shropshire and began playing the piano aged six with Katie Riddle. George attended Birmingham Junior Conservatoire, studying with Rebeca Omorida, and in 2013 was awarded the Mary Rees scholarship to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he is taught by Richard McMahon and Benjamin Frith. Since then George has participated in many masterclasses including Stephen Hough, Stephen Kovacevich and Angela Hewitt. This year George was the winner of the Eric Hodges Beethoven prize and went on to compete at the Beethoven Intercollegiate competition. In June, he was a finalist in the prestigious Ian Stoutzker Prize and in May 2015 took part in the Emanuel Trophy piano competition, where he received a distinction for his playing. For the last three years, George has won the overall prize at the Oswestry Youth Music Festival and in 2016 was awarded the Cherrington award for musical excellence.
