Some of his past students are now members of professional orchestras, work in West End theatre orchestras, compose clarinet music for the Associated Board exams, are successful teachers and one is running a wind ensemble at Exeter University. He encourages pupils to join ensembles outside the lessons and whenever possible forms groups among his pupils. At present he teaches at Reigate Grammar School where he teaches all ages from beginners to grade 8 and diploma standard. The clarinet group he formed at this school won first prize in 2017 at the Redhill and Reigate wind ensemble competition. He also teaches saxophone. He has recent CRB and NSPCC certificates and is an MU member,

As a performer Wilf Goddard studied at the Royal College of Music under Thea King gaining an ARCM and winning the corporation prize and after a period as a member of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra studied with Alfred Boskovsky and Rudolf Jettel in Vienna. On returning to England he established a free-lance career playing mainly with the Northern Sinfonia, C.B.S.O, English National Opera as well as theatre and touring engagements. He then became co-principal clarinet with the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra during which time he also played with other dutch and german ensembles. During this period he also formed the Felson Trio with the pianist Peter Pettinger and soprano Joy Roberts which made a number of recordings for the BBC and played at small venues throughout Europe. He then came back to London were he had a longstanding association with Raymond Gubbay, for whom he must have performed the famous solo from Rhapsody in Blue more times than most other contemporary clarinettists. Because of this connection he became interested in Klezmer clarinet music and has continued to enthusiastically perform this genre of music. He also formed the London Gala Orchestra originally to accompany world famous ballet companies at the London Coliseum. Today the L.G.O performs around twenty concerts a year performing at venues throughout the country including open air concerts with famous television celebrities and a New Year concert series. Every year the orchestra performs to over twenty thousand people.
