Biography

I am an experienced teacher of brass instruments in County Durham. I am able to teach all brass instruments from beginner level to grade 8 and for advanced students on tenor and bass trombones.

I have a GCSE and A level in music as well as a degree in music from Durham University where I specialised in contemporary performance with Mr John Snijders and Renaissance performance practice on Sackbutt with Dr. Hector Sequera. In addition I was taught trombone by Peter Wilkie (D'Oyly Carte Opera Company) and Stuart Gray (Royal Northern Sinfonia).

I also teach music theory to grade 8 having been taught music theory before university by Gerald Ions and whilst at university by several of the staff there. I am also equipped to over tuition in all aspects of GCSE and A Level syllubi, having studied historical musicology, composition and harmony at degree level.

I am currently the conductor of Orchestra Cipriani, North Skelton Band and Durham Constabulary Brass Band.
