Keeping Children Safe in Music is the latest in the EduCare's series of distance learning courses on child protection. The training programme uses short films to show a variety of good and bad practice examples, which will be available to watch online. It will help anyone teaching music to children gain a better understanding of their child protection responsibilities, and avoid situations that could lead to accusations of misconduct.

I am currently offering online lessons from my fully-equipped home studio in South London. These lessons can be recorded for practice purposes.

With a varied portfolio career straddling performer, recording artist, tutor, and researcher I offer my students a wealth of experienced guidance. As a vocal coach, I work with beginners to professionals fostering a supportive relationship that always encourages creativity, and personal expression at its core.

My teaching style covers jazz, pop, folk and contemporary commercial singing, with an emphasis on finding that sweet spot between informed technical choices through foundational work, and freedom in developing an intuitive artistic voice.

Training in London to postgraduate level with some of the UK’s leading jazz, folk and commercial vocalists, and preforming at leading venues such as Kings Place, Vortex Jazz Club and Cecil Sharp’s House, My career as a singer-songwriter has led to multiple radio plays and experience as a signed artist. As a published researcher I write about female representation in folk song. Enriching the way I teaches my students to encourage them to think deeper about what they are singing, or the meaning of their songwriting.

With a holistic approach my teaching offers a supportive environment to explore your new found voice, or craft what you’ve already developed, and give you practical tools and encouragement to be heard. I would be excited to help you find your voice!

In a lesson, you can expect to cover warm ups/ downs, harmony, rhythm, body and vocal delivery techniques and other skills dependent on your focus. You will also work on songs where all of these skills are put into practice. We can also focus on specific audition prep, songwriting and performance workshops (with a provided accompanist for extra fee), or music theory if discussed beforehand.

I am fully DBS checked and can provide documents upon request.
