My teaching style draws inspiration from many sources, from Suzuki to Kodaly and the Russian Piano Method. Students listen regularly to high-quality recordings and personalised tutorials of the music they're learning in order to motivate and guide them, a method which benefits older students and adults as well as younger students. Parents are closely involved in lessons and practice with children, which means they can progress successfully at a much younger age. In my experience this gets the quickest and best results, and is a lovely way to spend time and bond with your child while developing a beautiful skill to be proud of. It also means I am happy to start students at a much younger age, usually from 4 and on occasion even from 3 1/2.

I have a 100% pass rate with ABRSM exams from grade 1 to 8, but I'm also happy to explore other styles of music if that's where your interests lie.

Beginner to intermediate - £25 per half hour
Advanced - £45 per hour

I always recommend a half hour trial lesson first to discuss your requirements and for me to introduce my teaching style. I only charge for the trial lesson if you decide to continue, otherwise it's free!

Biography

I'm a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Australia where I completed a BMus in Performance. I then received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, where I gained an MMus in Performance and also the LRAM - the teaching qualification of the Royal Academy of Music.

I've performed as soloist and chamber musician in many venues including the Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Royal Albert Hall.

I'm a friendly, enthusiastic teacher with nearly 20 years of experience teaching privately, in schools and at university level.

As a piano teacher most recently I've taught at Kings College London, The Mount School and DLD College, in addition to many years of private teaching.

Now a mum myself, I focus on my private studio in Beckenham, teaching all ages from toddler to adult.
