Hello - I am passionate both about music and music education! Having worked as a professional pianist, composer/arranger and university lecturer all my working life, I have also run my private teaching practice in Lancashire for more than 35 years; having taught hundreds of students, both children and adults. I aim to introduce every student to a broad range of musical approaches and experiences that both engage and develop their musicianship and maximize their potential, and as such, each lesson is tailored to the individual. I am known for my friendly and informal approach - it’s hugely important to me that lessons are both stimulating and fun! (see Testimonials).

Apart from offering a wide variety of repertoire to suit all ages and tastes, I offer formal music exams using primarily the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Piano syllabuses Grades 1-8, Diplomas and Theory up to Grade 8.

Numerous former students have gone on to work in the music profession as both performers and teachers themselves, whilst many others continue to play for pleasure into their adulthood.

Around 10% of my teaching practice consists of adult students, both working and retired, who wish to play informally without necessarily the pressure of exams.

Please feel free to call me on 07817 019063 or email me for more information or to discuss your interest in playing piano at [email protected] You may also like to visit my website: to find out more about me.
