Notes:

I offer tuition in voice, piano and musicianship skills, and my teaching philosophy is simple – I believe in giving students the tools that they need to progress and achieve in their chosen discipline, while nurturing a love for music and having fun!

I have 13 years of experience of teaching in a variety of contexts and am currently employed as a tutor by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Junior Chorus and as a lecturer by the junior conservatoire of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, as well as teaching privately from home.

Tuition focuses on building a healthy and effective technique, solid musicianship, and confidence in performance; I am also happy to enter students for graded exams if they feel that this is something that they would like to work towards.

I have experience of working with both children and adults and am additionally trained in working with those with special needs. I am also a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and as such abide by their code of practice and child protection policy.

Tuition is available on a one-to-one basis and, where appropriate, in small groups. I prefer to teach from home but am willing to travel to students’ homes for an additional charge of £5.

For further information on my performance and teaching activities please see my website (www.aimeetoshney.com) and if you’d like to discuss anything please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d be happy to hear from you.
