Electric Bass Guitar
Beginners to Advanced
My name is Joe and I am a young, enthusiastic and professional music tutor, specialising in the electric bass guitar for all skill levels and ages.
I believe all students can experience the joy of learning and playing an instrument no matter what their ability or age and can, most importantly, have an enjoyable time!
I am dedicated to customising my lessons towards your personal goals and I use an equal focus across all elements of music from theory and technique to emotion and expression. This approach helps my students to develop comprehensively and fully experience the brilliance that is playing music.
If you have certain aspirations, such as learning a favourite song, bass line or exploring a genre I can help you on your musical journey.
I can also support students working towards academic goals such as Trinity grades, Rockschool, GCSE/A-Level or other similar structured syllabus.
I can also progress more accomplished players to develop their musicianship, become stonger at self directed study, achieve specific personal goals and grow as more confident and proficient performers.
I teach from my dedicated music space in Bedminster and private studio in Easton; but I am also able to travel to you in the Bristol area for lessons.
As a skilled professional musician with over 10 years of playing I have extensive expertise, knowledge and resources to support all aspects of musical development.
I am personable, friendly, able, reliable and dedicated.
I have completed a BA(hons) degree in Professional Musicianship, finishing with first class honours and the highest grade of that year. Throughout my time at university I gained intensive tuition on the bass guitar as well as music performance and composition. This has left me with a wide-ranging and well-practiced skill set.
I have considerable experience as a performing and improvising musician; playing bass, keyboards and synthesisers.
I am practised in writing, composing, producing and performing; including in a variety of projects and bands around the south west over the past 8 years alongside composing music for films and animations.
In addition, I have experience tutoring students with disability or additional needs at secondary/college stage; guest-lecturing at university level and facilitating seminars at higher education sector events.
Beyond personal tuition and mentoring I can also supplement your learning by drawing on my professional network to offer real world experience of ensemble and group playing, creative writing development and production and studio recording experiences; to expand your learning and enjoyment.
Bass is ace!
