Notes:

Richard is a professional viola player living in Hoylake, Wirral. He has been a member of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra since 1979, and has, over the course of his career, played with many of the leading orchestras in the UK.
After graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications, he won a position as Graduate Assistant Teacher at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he taught conducting as an assistant to Distinguished Professor Harry John Brown, as well as serving as violist in the faculty string quartet and as principal viola in several orchestras in the Western New York state region.
As a teacher and viola coach Richard is currently Viola Tutor at Bangor University, and has been a viola coach for the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra as well as coaching for youth and amateur orchestras in South and North Wales.
Over the years several of Richard's students have won places at leading UK conservatories and eventually entered into successful professional careers.
