Notes:

I have just finished my degree in BA music from Canterbury Christ Church University and I have previous experience in teaching all age groups and abilities. I am a classically trained pianist but I have lots of experience playing other genres. I also used to play the clarinet in numerous wind and big jazz bands. Although I am no longer persuing this career path I did want to teach music at a secondary school level and I have a good knowledge of different learning styles and learning models and provide a very holistic and versatile music programme. I usually recommend trinity’s grade books as a natural structure to my lessons but I appreciate each student has different preferences and aims and will support my pupils in whatever goals they want to achieve, whether that's through graded assessments or not. In regards to possible repertoire I am most comfortable teaching classical and pop but am more than happy to recommend a wide variety of music and assist my students with any pieces they bring me.

A little bit about me. I currently work as a palliative care Outpatient Coordinator and am trying to implement music as a serious therapy for social isolation, breathlessness and dementia. I have just finished a BA in music from Canterbury Christ Church University and currently volunteer as a guide leader where I have been a member for 13 years. Looking to the future I am working towards an application for a masters course in music therapy starting 2021 (academic year).

Unfortunately due to my job I am only able to offer lessons at my pupils homes in the evenings as my job is 9-5 and my flat is too cramped to hold lessons.

Hold a current DBS check available on request.
