Abbie Finn is a drummer from the North-East of England who has over 14 years playing experience. She is currently based in Jesmond where she teaches drum lessons and also full class music and samba lessons.

In 2018 Abbie appeared as a cast member on the Harold Pinter play Night School which played at the Pinter Theatre, London in Nov and Dec 2018. Her drumming was described as impeccable and vivifying and featured reviews in the Observer, The Times, Independent and other papers.

In 2014 she won the adjudicators award and Best Section Award at The Great North Big Band Festival. She also received a place on the Keep an eye jazz summer school at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2015 where she worked with artists such as John Riley and Dick Oatts (From the Manhattan School of Music). In 2018 she was given the opportunity to play Percussion with the WOW (Women of the World) Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in London as part of a festival of women.

In 2017 Abbie received a 1st class degree with honours in Music (Jazz) at Leeds College of Music and studied under Sebastiaan De Krom. She is currently studying a Masterís Degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with the Archer Scholarship. She is studying with a variety of tutors including Asaf Sirkis and Gene Calderazzo.

Abbie is currently a dep for National Youth Jazz Orchestra and also played with the NYJO Academy big band, The Trinity Composerís Big Band, A Drum and Sax duo with Harry Keeble, A Quintet with Postgraduate students at Trinity, The NYJO Quintet, The Jazztones and The Durham Alumni Big Band.

She has played in a range of different ensembles including big bands, small jazz ensembles, Samba Band, wind bands, orchestras, rock bands and brass bands. Abbie also plays trumpet, bass guitar and piano and loves composing, arranging and musical directing. She created her own big band whilst studying for her Undergraduate degree, which she organised, directed and arranged music for.
