I am a graduate from the University of Birmingham with a first class honours degree in Music, where I majored in flute performance studying with Jonathan Rimmer and Diane Clarke from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I have a wealth of playing experience and with many outstanding youth orchestras, including the City Leeds Youth, the University of Birmingham Philharmonic, and the City Birmingham Symphony Youth, and was accepted into the prestigious College Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati USA for a year abroad.

Piano-wise, I was awarded the Irene Martin Prize for Pianoforte in 2015, and was a regional finalist in the 2013 Aireborough Rotary Young Musician Competition, as well as accompanying and playing several musicians, choirs and ensembles in concerts, competitions, recordings, and rehearsals.

I have taught music for several years alongside my studies, with an ever-growing private teaching studio of over 25 students. I have also been employed through Whitehouse Music Service in Alvechurch since November 2018, where I not only teach but assistant manage and head up the marketing and social media. I teach both piano and flute to students of all ages and abilities, whether complete beginners or advanced. My approach for lessons is predominantly student-driven, working on the individualís own goals and aspirations for music making, whether that be sitting classical examinations, entering for competitions, developing improvisation skills, or simply making music for pleasure.

Regardless of genre or aspirations, I always encourage healthy, tension-free technique and posture with both instruments, to give each student the best chance at succeeding musically. Lessons will include reading music, playing pieces, and navigating the respective instrument with correct fingerings. I also aspire to give a thorough, broad, and well-rounded musical education to my students, so music theory, aural skills, playing expressively, contextual understanding, and performance practice are incorporated throughout lessons and whilst learning music.

I am also able to offer tuition in GCSE and A-level syllabuses, as well as just music theory if a student so desires.

I offer a discounted lesson rate to full-time university students and OAPs. Please send a text or email for all enquiries.
