Mr Toby Brazier

I began my musical life as a boy chorister of Barnet Parish Church singing the great repertoire of the English choral tradition. Soon after I started playing the trumpet and cornet at primary school and my local brass band. It was not long before I started doing grades and progressing up to grade 8 in a short time period. By 17, I was attending the local youth jazz and brass ensembles plus other groups around the Hertfordshire county music scene. After achieving my A level in music I went on to music college in Leeds. Here I studied Jazz Trumpet under the direction of Simon Barnes for 3 years and graduated in 2009 with BA (hons). After college I joined the army to be a military musician where I joined the Royal Artillery Band, Woolwich (now based in Tidworth). In my time in the army I performed in Russia, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and Morocco and regularly performed at the famous changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. I have been teaching ever since college and have taught privately and in schools across Kent and London throughout the past few years. I had been teaching regularly within the army too helping fellow colleagues and non musician soldiers alike.

Currently teaching in West Yorkshire area and continue private tuition here at my home. Other ongoing projects include my own jazz group the Toby Brazier Sextet which performs regularly in jazz clubs across the UK. I also perform with several big bands and function groups in London and Leeds.
