Biography

Professional musician with nearly 20 years playing experience in festivals, concert halls both nationally and internationally. Performances include: Niš and Bansko Jazz Festival (Bulgaria and Serbia), Bern Festival (Switzerland), Pennabilli festival (Italy), Seven Glastonbury festivals, Waterford (Ireland), Barcelona Music Festival, Cannes Film Festival (France), Radio 3 and 4, Sky Arts, Shetland Folk Festival, Royal Opera House, L'espirit Manouche, Manchester Jazz Festival, Royal Albert Hall, Blenheim Palace, South Bank Centre, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, NCEM, Birmingham Town Hall, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Bestival, Lunar, Moseley Folk Fest ...

I currently direct a 25 player guitar ensemble called Birmingham Schools' Guitar Sinfonia - where I coach, conduct and compose/arrange music for young players between the grades of 4-6. We cover a variety of genres inc. classical, flamenco, jazz and perform twice at a year at Symphony Hall and Birmingham Conservatoire.

I have also been a flamenco dance accompanist for Elmhurst School of Dance and have worked at the RSC in Stratford

As a peripatetic teacher, my teaching has included Classical guitar tuition from years 1 to 13; WCIT; SEN teaching; guiding students through graded examinations (inc. GCSE and A-Level), auditions, concert and ensemble preparation. I have run drop-in guitar classes, given workshops and composed and arranged ensemble music for: Big Fun Workshop (Symphony Hall, 2014); Elective Showcase Concert (Sutton Town Hall, 2014); Go Guitarrista’s Workshop Ensemble (Adrian Boult Hall, 2015); weekly sessions for Falcon Lodge Community Outreach (2016-17); Guitar and Keyboard Day (Birmingham University School, 2017).

I am also a keen composer and am currently working on production music albums:
• Curious Cabaret album (released on ‘EMI Sparkle & Burn’ 2014) — multi-instrumental ensemble album
• Quirky Quartets double album (released on Score 2017/2019) — String quartet album
• Pizzicolour — Pizzicato-based album (Score 2019)
