Notes:

I have 30 years experience teaching violin to both children and adults
I studied at the Royal College of Music, firstly in the junior department, and then continued to the senior department from 1980 to 1983.
All students will learn to read and understand the language of music from the very first lesson. I believe that It is important that they enjoy learning their instrument and all lessons are designed to be both enjoyable and instructive.
Students are encouraged to enter the ABRSM exams and I have a history of very successful results. There is opportunity for those who would like to develop their experience by performing in a friendly environment to take part in the Eastbourne Music and Arts Festival of which I am advisor for the Strings section.
I believe that itís never too late to start playing the violin and have many adult pupils at all levels, many of whom go on to play in local amateur orchestras.
Individual lessons are generally 40 minutes for younger children, or an hour for those who are more advanced. I am always happy to give a free consultation lesson and can be flexible with times. I am located in the heart of Eastbourne and there is easy parking. Parents are always welcome to attend and observe the lessons and I actively encourage this in the early stages. I also teach theory of music.
As well as teaching, I am a very experienced performer. I have lead the Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra since 1984 and perform with various other orchestras and groups in East Sussex. I am also the Strings adjudicator of the ESO annual Young Soloist Competition that attracts young soloists from all over the UK and abroad.
In my spare time I love walking our Golden Retriever on the Downs and live with my husband and two children.
