Notes:
I'm a violinist and pianist with proficiency in teaching aural and theory. While studying academic music at Oxford University, I received my violin tuition on a funded part-time scheme at the Royal Academy of Music, I studied piano at the Royal College of Music Junior Department on the ABRSM scholarship. My academic interests include the psychology of music education and practice, which informs my approach to teaching and how to advise students to do their own work at home. Whenever I teach, but especially with younger students, I try to show that the most efficient ways of working don't have to be the hardest, or the least enjoyable. We work in small sections so students can stay focused and correct mistakes so they don't get discouraged.
I'm happy to teach the violin up to grade 8, and piano and theory up to grade 5. Where possible, I prefer to teach at my home in Harlesden. Parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons and I have a DBS check.
