Biography

Mitch Jones began playing music at an early age and at the age of 12 was offered a scholarship to study at the world renowned Chetham's School of Music, Manchester where he studed Classical piano.

Whilst at Chetham's, Mitch began to become interested in Jazz and upon leaving Chetham's, Mitch was offered a scholarship to study at Trinity College Of Music, London, on the prestigious Jazz Course. Here, he studied for four years and left with a First Class Honours Degree in Jazz Performance (BMus Hons).

Since leaving Trinity, Mitch has worked with some of the country's finest Jazz musicians including Stan Sulzmann, Nigel Hitchcock, John Parricelli and was a member of Dennis Rollins 'BadBone & Co' where they frequently sold out Ronnie Scott's and headlined Brecon Jazz Festival.

More recently Mitch has been working with musicians in the Pop world including Pixie Lott, Jessie Ware, John Newman, Ella Henderson and is also currently working as accompanist and arranger for the show 'The X Factor'.

His musical versatility resulted in him being asked to record on Multi-Grammy nominated Indian Classical artist Anoushka Shankar's latest album alongside the legendary Larry Grenadier.

Mitch has taught extensively throughout his career and has taught on such esteemed courses as the Trinity Jazz Summer School and also lead Jazz studies at Reigate Grammar School.
