"Jamie taught me drum kit from the age of 7. He inspired me every week and gave me the love that I have for the instrument today. I think it's really important to get a good foundation when you start as a player and Jamie really helped me with this. The lessons were fun and enjoyable but also technically challenging to make sure I maximised my potential. I'm now studying at the Junior RNCM in Manchester and playing with the National Youth Jazz Collective and I definitely wouldn't have been here if Jamie hadn't pointed me in the right direction. He nurtured me as a young musician and set up opportunities for me, like playing in the local youth orchestra and playing alongside professional percussionists in Carmina Burana at the age of 10. I'll never forget how kind and helpful he was in my early years as a musician."

"I studied with Jamie for six years and during that time completed my GSCEs, attained a National Diploma in music and started an undergraduate degree at university (with no small thanks to Jamie's lessons). Jamie is extremely patient and friendly and his lessons are well structured and fun. My lessons with Jamie have made me a really well rounded musician - I started off only wanting to play ACDC and whilst Jamie really accommodated that, he also encouraged me to explore other styles of music and so began my love of Latin music. Even though my lessons were for drum kit, Jamie was able to show me more about Latin music by introducing me to hand percussion (such as the congas and tamborim) using his own well of experience on the subject. Jamie was integral in my path through further education, helping me to prepare correctly for my entry auditions and even rescheduling lessons just before my exam. Since studying with Jamie I have attained a BA (Hons) in Popular Music and Recording, and I'm working towards becoming a teacher in my own right."
