Royal Northern College of Music qualified and trained. LGSM teaching qualification from the Guildhall School of Music.
Instruments: Piano solo and accompaniment
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I studied the Piano with Sidney Harrison, professor at the Royal Academy of Music and then attended the Royal Northern College of Music where I studied with Sulamita Aronovsky and then George Hadjinikos who inspired in me a lifelong love of teaching.

I have over 30 years experience teaching the Piano to children and young people as well as adult students who are either taking up something new, returning after a long break or keen to develop their playing further. In addition to my private teaching practice I have taught in Derbyshire schools and at Brooke House College independent school in Market Harborough.

I have a successful track record of preparing students for exams and performances and aim to teach overall musicianship rather than instrumental technique alone in my lessons. Some of my students have gone to become professional musicians themselves. I also find it rewarding to teach those who wish to play simply for enjoyment. I am a friendly, patient and encouraging teacher and tailor my lessons to the individual students ability and ambitions.

As a Piano accompanist I have performed throughout the UK and also in Europe alongside solo instrumentalists, singers and choirs. As well as concerts and competitions, I have provided accompaniment for diploma recitals at the Birmingham Conservatoire, auditions at the Royal Northern College of Music, Royal College, Royal Academy and Guildhall as well as accompanying students in their ABRSM and Trinity exams.

Lessons and rehearsals are at my home studio in Church Gresley. I have a Schulze Pollmann Grand Piano available for advanced lessons.
