Notes:

Hello there, I'm Gordon and I am a professional bass player living and working on the Devon/Cornwall border.

I teach in schools and privately, mainly in the Plymouth area.

I started out playing cornet and trombone in Brass Bands in and around Plymouth and went on to study trombone in the Royal Marines Band Service under Albert Thompson of the Scottish National Orchestra and also string bass. I turned professional after leaving the RMBS, both on trombone and bass guitar and have been teaching and playing ever since, including 7 years with the Somerset Music Service and Richard Huish College. I also conduct brass bands on occasion.

Pupils of mine have gone on to play professionally and gain performance degrees from major colleges.

I teach people for fun, to enter exams (Guildhall/Trinity/Rock School) and to prepare for music college. I prefer to start from the bottom up with beginners (no bad habits) and will do shared lessons for starters if required.

Call me and we can chat through what you want from YOUR lessons.
