Biography

As a professional musician I am extremely dedicated to mastering my chosen disciplines and exploring my creative capacity. Having worked as a session musician, composer, recording artist and music tutor I feel I have gained a remarkable amount of professional experience in the music industry and classroom for my age. Teaching is one of my great passions and is something I wish to continue with throughout my entire career as a musician. It is very important to me to act as a positive and inspiring role model for my pupils, using my knowledge of music and experience in the industry to help broaden their musical horizons and realise their own musical aspirations.

Teaching Experience


• Peripatetic Guitar and Composition tutor at Wispers School Haslemere for five years, providing one to one tuition and directing students through the Rockschool and Trinity Guildhall grades with a 100% pass rate, supplying Music Technology and Contemporary Composition workshops to groups of students aged 11 - 18. (2004 – Present)

• Co Founder and Head of Guitar at Band Academy UK, a teaching service which gives lessons and workshops to students in schools throughout the Southeast of England. (2003 – 2007)

• Peripatetic tutor at Greycourt School Kingston, conducting weekly workshops on performance, composition and arrangement skills and acting as a musical director and mentor for young aspiring bands and ensembles. (2004 – 2007)

• 6 years of private, one-on-one and group guitar tuition to students of all age’s and abilities. Pupils have gone on to study at prestigious music institutions such as Goldsmiths, Academy of Contemporary Music and Guildhall. (2002 – Present)


Musical Experience 2002 - Present

Composition

• Currently composing, producing for the contemporary music group ‘Subsource’. The act has performed extensively throughout the U.K. and Europe and has a number of successful commercial releases to date. (2005 – Present)

• Composition, recording and production of music for inclusion on commercial computer games and television sound tracks such as MotoGP 6 & 7 (Xbox 360) Juiced (Sony PSP) (2006 – Present)

• Commissioned to rearrange/remix compositions by numerous international recording artists such as Goodbooks (Columbia Records) Datarock (YAP Records) Parka (Jeepster Recordings) (2006 – Present)

• Freelance Composition and production for recording artists such as acclaimed African Hip Hop group ‘The Real Elements’, British singer song writer Deborah John and Electronic Jazz pioneers ‘Pest’ (Ninjatune Records) (2003 – 2005)

• Commissioned to compose soundtrack for an art installation consisting of textile sculpture and film, created by Scottish based arts collective Creative Space Scotland (2003)

• Completed a series of compositions with former Yes, King Crimson and Genesis Drummer Bill Bruford. The compositions explored of both traditional jazz harmony and a more contemporary linear approach often preferred by electronic and alternative music styles. (2004)

Performance

• Currently performing Guitar, Keys, Vocals and Percussion for the contemporary music group ‘Subsource’. The act has performed extensively throughout the U.K. and Europe including a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival 2008. (2005 – Present)

• Employed by Polydor Records as a session guitarist for the acclaimed singer songwriter Akayzia Parker, gaining invaluable experience touring throughout Europe, supporting acts such as Aqualung, Marrianne Faithful, Venessa Carlton and Clearlake. Subsequently I was asked to record guitar on Akayzia’s debut album, working with the prolific producers of Finley Quayes debut, Bacon & Quornby. (2003 – 2004)

• Guitarist in twelve piece ensemble ‘Soul Academy’ performing Soul and Motown classics at corporate functions and private parties (2001 – 2002)

• Performed guitar in small jazz ensemble ‘A Kind Of Blue’, performing extensively across the south of England (2001 – 2002)
