Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

Since March 2020, I have been teaching all my private pupils online. Everyone has adapted amazingly well, and it's been a big success. I've found that all my pupils have improved, I have been able to give more attention to detail than we would in a normal lesson, and using my own pre-recorded piano accompaniments I've even helped pupils prepare for virtual school performances and online exams.

I am an experienced cello teacher based in Dorking. Lessons take place online from my teaching studio at my home, using the free video conferencing software Zoom . Each session is scheduled in advance by me and is password protected.

Contact me today for your free guide to using Zoom for cello lessons.

I teach beginner to advanced level, from age 5 plus. I tailor my approach according to each pupils' needs - this can be discussed in an initial consultation lesson, with no obligaion to continue. I am happy to work towards ABRSM or Trinity exams.

Whether your child is interested in learning the cello, or perhaps you are an adult who would like to have a few lessons to get back into playing, or start playing for the first time - do get in touch for more information.

I can also teach beginner piano lessons, and music theory lessons (including ABRSM Grade 5 theory, which is required for any instrumental exams above grade 6).

About me as a teacher: I'm an experienced teacher - I currently work at Downsend School, Micklefield School, Walthamstow hall Junior school and at Gallions primary school as one of their Colourstrings cello teachers - I can use Colourstrings books if requested. Previously I have worked for London Music Masters, the Nucleo Project and at Wells Cathedral School as a practise supervisor. As a teaching deputy, I have also worked for Hackney Saturday centre, Blackheath Conservatoire & North London Colourstrings centre. I also teach a number of private pupils.

I have an up to date DBS certificate, and this is available to check online on the update service. I have undertaken a recent child protection safeguarding course (April 2019) and I am a member of the Musician's Union, with full public liability insurance.

Please contact me by email or phone to ask any questions and to arrange a consultation lesson via Zoom.
