Notes:

I am 29 year old musician originally from Finland, I moved to Cambridge over 4 years ago to study.
I split my time between composing film music, commercial jingles, composing and playing with a folk band based in Cambridge. (Mandolin being my choice of instrument in this group) I also do the occasional session work with various artists and composers.
The way I learned to play guitar was through enjoyment of just playing and learning things that interested me. I would teach a child, young adult or an adult on their own terms in order to have 100% enjoyment of the instrument and music. Everybody is different and everybody learns in different levels and speeds.

I have played guitar for over 16 years, which makes it my first instrument. I have gravitated towards instruments like Mandolin, harmonica, double bass and the drums. I am more than capable of giving lessons on guitar, Mandolin and harmonica. During these 14 years I have been involved in many different groups from Jazz to Punk and so I have gathered a very deep insight what each style needs theoretically and physically.

I can give lessons on not only on styles like, Blues, Rock, Jazz, Folk, Latin music and pop but also on reading music, understanding chords and their functions (Functional harmony) and modes. Improvisation is a very big part of unlocking the true potential of a budding musician, this also can be taught to a certain point. Aural training and setting up ways to practice on your own are a big part of the lessons.
