Mr Ashley Bonfante

From a young age I have been rigorously coached in Jazz and Classical performance at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London). This, coupled with private lessons from a range of highly rated professionals working on the Jazz scene in London, has enabled me to further my studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music. I am currently studying in my fourth year for a BMus under the guidance of highly sought after educators and exceptionally successful musicians from the UK and European Jazz scenes.
Guildhall School of Music - Oliver Weston, Victoria Soames Samek (Classical), Jeffery Wilson, Christian Forshaw (Classical)

Birmingham Conservatoire - Mike Williams, Hans Koller, Jeremy Price, Jean Toussaint, Percy Pursglove, Andy Panayi (Jazz)
Instruments: Alto/Tenor Saxophone
Genre/Style(s): I have years of performance experience and a thorough knowledge of a variety of genres; however I specialise in the following:
Jazz Performance
Jazz Harmony/Theory
Classical Performance/Theory
Basic Keyboard Skills
General Music Theory
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I am consistently performing with a wide range of big bands, small bands and concert bands as a session musician as well leading some of my own projects. From a young age I have performed in venues varying from the Albert Hall to the Midlands Arts Centre, Adrian Boult Hall and numerous Jazz clubs, whilst also touring in European cities such as Nice and Verona. I have shared the stage with leading jazz musicians such as Jeff Ballard (Fly trio, Ray Charles) and George Colligan (Michael Brecker, Ravi Coltrane).

I have been teaching privately for a number of years now whilst studying in Birmingham. I have often travelled back to London to lead some workshops at various young music centres.
