Notes:
Rosie has an eclectic career in music, and has been lucky enough to play and work with some amazing people! After completing her degree at Birmingham Conservatoire with First Class Honours, she moved to Cardiff to study with Rob Plane and Tim Lines and she now freelances around the Midlands.
She has worked on many shows in and around Birmingham, and has played as a part of various Orchestras across the Midlands. She made her solo debut performing Finzi’s clarinet concerto with Derby Concert Orchestra and performs regularly in a variety of mediums.
Folk music plays a massive part of Rosie’s life, and she is lucky enough to regularly play with some of the virtuoso's on the scene. She has played as part of the amazing Joe Broughton’s Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, with whom she has performed at Fairport Convention’s Cropredy Festival to over 20,000 people, as well as playing with Fairport Convention themselves. Other festivals with this band include the legendary Towersey Festival and Shambala.
Along with musicians Ning-ning Li and Jamie Rutherford, Rosie plays as a part of acoustic folk-fusion trio Threaded. This ensemble is a creative project which draws on various musical influences to create original material. With this ensemble, Rosie performs at a variety of different events, venues and festivals and has released two albums to great critical acclaim.
Rosie is also an experienced teacher, and is accredited with Derbyshire Music Partnership. She has previously worked for Bristol Plays Music, Birmingham Music Service, and was also the clarinet tutor for the El Sistema based project ‘In Harmony’ which was delivered in Stoke- on- Trent. She currently teaches in Derbyshire schools, The Old Vicarage School and privately to both adults and children, having a 100% exam success rate. She has also worked in a variety of different environments as a workshop leader.
