Notes:
I have been teaching for a number of years now privately, in schools and as a tutor at orchestras. I cover all ages and have thorough knowledge of the school SQA exam criteria. I started teaching in 2010 at the Inverlcyde junior string orchestra where I still work now.
I also currently work as a peripatetic violin instructor at a high school in Dumbarton and teach privately in Greenock and Glasgow.
In addition, I have done a variety of teaching work at different music schools and centres and so am able to offer any kind of help to anyone who wishes to learn the violin or viola.
I am an encouraging and passionate teacher who does the best I can in order for all my pupils to fulfill their potential. I use a number of resources ranging from beginner violin books to ABRSM and Trinity exam pieces. I teach scales and studies also - technique is a large part of my teaching practise as it gives the pupils the best chance at progression and achieving their goals. A little bit of music theory is included in my lessons also, to ensure the pupils are understanding what they are doing and how to work things out on their own at home. This is of huge benefit to them and will allow them to aim high.
I want to make sure my pupils are getting the best help they can and I will always provide them with encouragement and determination.
